Age Divisions

Our training curriculum is organized by age divisions so that the material can be presented in a developmentally-appropriate manner. Parents must remember that children cannot be forced through developmental stages; patience and positive reinforcement are necessary to realize measurable growth.

Children (Ages 4-7)

Young children often have a natural talent for acting. But they may lack many of the skills required to use that talent in a professional setting --- self discipline, focus and the ability to take direction. Their high energy, natural curiosity and lack of inhibition make them ideal candidates for John Robert Powers training designed for their level of learning.

Preteen (Ages 8-11)

The preteen years are an age of self-discovery when focusing on oneself can lead to self-consciousness. John Robert Powers training is designed to build individuality through self-expression and creativity.

While gaining skills in modeling or the performance arts (walking a runway, acting in front of a camera, performing in mock commercials or sit-coms) the pre-teen builds self-esteem which essential for any career path later in life.

Young Adult Division (Ages 12-17)

Young adulthood is the phase when one begins to establish an identity and build character. John Robert Powers training offers teens a positive way to explore differences in people and situations --- and the ability to handle more complex thinking (an example would be moving beyond acting technique into character development).

At this Young Adult level, emphasis also is placed on transitioning to college or the professional arena.

Adult Division (Age 18+)

As people mature, they tend to think beyond self and are concerned more with others and the world in general. Training combines their social and historical perspectives with role study and character work. Acting becomes an experience of more depth and intensity. Clients are challenged to the up most in the performance art they choose.
