iPOP!
iPOP! (International Presentation of Performers) is a Convention that takes place twice a year --- in Las Vegas in July and Hollywood in January. iPOP! brings trained performers and models together with leading talent agents, talent managers, casting directors and modeling agencies from all over the United States, as well as Europe and Asia.
There are no "contestants" at iPOP! Each participant is respected as a performer who attends the event to improve their skills and display their talent in front of the leading professionals in the industry.
At iPOP! all performers audition for qualified professionals who are currently working in the industry. Performers get a chance to experience the realities of the entertainment and fashion industries from the inside. They get valuable experience performing in front of large groups of people, practicing their auditioning skills, and developing confidence.
Some will walk away with a contract signed right on the spot. Some will be contacted later for an opportunity with a top agency, management company, or record label.
Colin Braese of North Andover trained at John Robert Powers New England [Boston]) attended iPOP! and signed a talent contract with KSR, a Los Angeles talent agency. More recently, acting student Yiyi McManus from Lynn was awarded a $10,000 college scholarship from Ron Patterson, Chairman and President of John Robert Powers, at iPOP! in Las Vegas.
All performers must complete training at John Robert Powers to be able to attend the event. iPOP! is known for showcasing to agents, managers and casting directors only those performers who are learning their craft, are passionate about it, and have the confidence, ambition and personal drive it takes to become a success.
Parents are encouraged to attend iPOP! to provide support and encouragement for their children. Parents need to understand the business, and know how the industry's professionals work so they can be part of their child's career choice.
